Patrick Partouche announces the end of Partouche Poker Tour

06 September 2012

It was at a press conference that Patrick Partouche (in video below) announced the end of the Partouche Poker Tour circuit. Action taken in response to the controversy of the guaranteed prize pool at Main Event this year. Patrick says that does not accept that the organization is named "Partouche of thieves."

It started with the surprise of the players present on Day 2 of the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event (in the middle of the dispute of Day 3) that Patrick announced after the final prizepool, instead of € 5 million guaranteed, advertised by the room throughout the year, the prize pool is € 4,300,000.

The organization was quick to say that he had never said guaranteed, but many images were soon found in the net to deny the organization. The site iGamingFrance says that Patrick Partouche got fed up:

“Over 40 years dedicated my life, my name, my family to the game, the entire game, including poker, which is a true passion. And now I hear that we've done is not enough, which is not honest. The Partouche Poker Tour carries my name, my family name. I will not accept, my staff will not accept that people say that "Partouche are thieves," that "Partouche are cheaters." As such, this week took part in the last edition of the Partouche Poker Tour. We hope that others invest the same energy, the same desire, the same love for this game to continue.”

Regarding the issue of guaranteed or not guaranteed, Patrick never said that it was €5 million guaranteed before, that was a euphoric ad after the Main Event of 2011.
