Zynga poker to offer real cash games on Facebook

It seems Zynga poker is ready to roll its real-money poker and casino software for Facebook.

Last April, Zynga poker launched Zynga Plus Poker, a real-money poker client on the PartyPoker network, for UK customers only. The poker room is a simple skin of the Party client, and shares the same player pool liquidity. It also launched Zynga Plus Casino using bwin.party’s software in tandem.

Expanding to Facebook and mobile is a natural progression for Zynga’s real-money gaming (RMG) aspirations. The move was expected following a new deal between Zynga and Facebook inked in November 2012, which required Zynga to make its real-money games available on the Facebook platform.

Without a doubt, Zynga Texas Hold'em application on Facebook had been instrumental in increasing popularity of poker in India.

Sean Ryan, the head of game partnerships at Facebook, will be showing off both ZyngaPlusPoker and ZyngaPlusCasino on Facebook and mobile. There are no details yet on when either product will launch.

Since August 2012,  Zynga has been rapidly falling. The company lost top managerial talent and its stock price plummeted, it acknowledged that it overpaid for OMGPOP, and it racked up quarterly losses to the tune of $52 million. In February 2013, the San Francisco startup announced it lost more than $200 million in 2012.

James Cakmak, a financial analyst at the Telsey Advisory Group, generally agreed—and he was overall bullish on Zynga’s prospects over the longer-term.

“I think you're probably looking at 2014 or 2015 before [this move is] reflected in [Zynga's] bottom line,” he told.

“I think it's a really good story right now, but I don't expect the bwin.party partnership to provide any meaningful contribution to the company's finances over near-term. The most important takeaway is going to be the knowledge that Zynga can leverage [online gambling] for the US.”

This facebook move seems to be the best salvation for Zynga poker. Will keep track on the matter and inform on how it can affect the scenario of online poker India.

Zynga India started its operations in 2012 and has an office in Bangalore. They have one of their main product development and prodution studios there.
