06 August 2012

Last Saturday began Season 11 of the World Poker Tour in Cyprus at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino in Kyrenia. Both days’ 1 were already played and the controversial player Chino Reem has ended the day as the undisputed chipleader. This player was featured last year in many specialized media covers as he won the inaugural event of the former Epic Poker League and had to use his prize to pay multiple gambling debts.

Let's see the highlights of both starting days.

Saturday was played Day 1A. 163 players paid the $ 4,400 Buy-in in exchange for a starting stack of 30,000 chips. Of these, only 67 made it through the first cut and come with chips to Day 2. Maxim Panyak ended the session as chip leader with a stack of 255,800 chips, followed by Atzlan Gil, with 207,100 chips.

With them, came some very well known players as Marvin Rettenmaier (122,200), Toni Judet (101,000), Erik Cajelais (71,900), Mark Neuman (63,300) or Stuart Fox (86.200).

However, others were eliminated, like Chris Moorman, Dominik Nitsche, Nicolas Chouity or Zimnan Ziyard.

164 players competed Day 1B on Sunday Main Event. 65 of them passed the test and will be present on Day 2. Chino Rheem ended the day as chip leader with a stack of 291,500 chips. Behind him were Hüsnü Sincar (247,500), the champion of WPT Amneville, Sam El Sayed (214,300) and Giuseppe Pantaleo (191,300).

The 132 survivors are now playing on Day 2. Masters Poker Club will continue to inform you about this first event of the new season of World Poker Tour.
