The lag in payouts was technical glitch arising from a system lag. This resulted after about 193 players got their payout which was an unprecedented number because of which 1500 players found themselves queuing up to receive their payouts.

The 2006 main event had 873 payouts but for the current year, out of 22,374 players who tried their luck, 2,241 players in the colossus awaited their payment.
