Pokerstars German players will move to .EU

19 July 2012

The Pokerstars players in Germany will be migrated to the Pokerstars.EU platform soon.Reportedly this transition will take place between today and tomorrow.

The transition is compulsory but players will maintain the same user experience as before. They will still share the same player pool, games choice and deposit options, there are also no extra restrictions.

As Pokerstars.EU is licenced and reguladted in Malta players will be able to take advantage of that added regulation advantage and will not be excepted to pay any taxes as opposed to what they would have to pay if they remained in an "non-eu" licensed platform.

This is what the Pokerstars Head of Corporate Commnications ,Eric Hollreiser, had to say about it:

"Regulatory developments within the European Union in recent years underscored that there are numerous advantages (for players and for PokerStars) to maintaining a base of operations in Malta, an EU member state where we hold a global e-gaming license. Since taking that license we have gradually transferred players from various EU countries to the Malta license in order to benefit from the EU regulatory environment."
