International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT), delayed...

20 May 2012

The project of the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) will be delayed and will not begin until May 31, 2013. It seems that the failure to purchase Full Tilt by GBT (Group Bernard Tapie) has made the French entrepreneur take it easy. Probably meant to bring both projects in parallel so that players who wanted to classify online for ISPT they would do it through Full Tilt.

Remember that Group Bernard Tapie tried unsuccessfully to buy Full Tilt. After tough negotiations, they backed down on the based on the time limit imposed by Department of Justice (DoJ) U.S. to return the money to the players. The purchase was subject to full refund of the money within 90 days. Finally, it was PokerStars who took the upper hand for about $ 750 million, after accepting the terms of the DoJ.

Despite the setback and change of plans, Bernard Tapie is linked to the poker world and it seems that his ambition as an entrepreneur is endless. The ISPT project does not seem easy to do, but recognize that the concept is innovative and as such, some people hope that may become a reality. It would have a capacity of 30,000 players who would begin playing at Wembley Stadium connected to the Internet via mobile devices such tablet. When the last 3,000 players remain, this system would be abandoned and the classic format would of live tournament would become active.

The already qualified as the biggest ever tournament by ISPT website would have a prize pool of around 20 million euros and buy-in of 600 €. It would be televised in over 28 countries and would run from 31st May to 6th June 2013.

We are therefore facing a half online half live format with a capacity of 30,000 players. Almost nothing. We will have to remain vigilant to see if the date is final or if Bernard Tapie will have to wait a little longer to see his dream fulfilled.
