Phil Helmuth wins WSOP 2012 Event 18 $2.500 Seven Card Razz

11 June 2012

The big news of the 15Th day of these WSOP® 2012 will be Phil Hellmuth, who just a few minutes, has won his bracelet number 12 in the WSOP® after winning Event #18: $ 2,500 Seven Card Razz. It has taken 5 years, since in 2007 Hellmuth won his last bracelet in a $1,500 NL Hold'em event. The one he just got, becomes the first bracelet won in a variant other than NL Hold'em, which, further expands the legend of this great player.

Helmuth won the final HU against Don Zewin, who couldn't do much more than to see his short stack of 600,000 chips when starting the HU (1.7 M for Hellmuth) gradually go down to finally reach zero, giving the victory to the only player in the world that holds 12 wsop event bracelets, so far... Zewin won $113,024 for his performance, while helmuth took home $182,793, by the way, this was his 89th ITM in a WSOP® event, (another record).

At the final table we could find other big names such as Barry Greenstein (6th - $ 30,150) or Brandon Cantu (3rd- $ 74,269), who started the day as chip leader among the 18 players in the event.

No doubt this is the biggest news of the wsop so far. Perseverance, and consistency of Hellmuth, have finally payoff. Here he is with his 12th bracelet.

Congratzz sir!
