Alongside the World series poker, Aria Resort and Casino on the Vegas strip was hosting a $25,000 tournament for some of the biggest professional players in poker online. What followed was a huge mistake that cost Aria heavily. One of the entrants for the event was actually a participant who had paid to register in the daily $125 tournament hosted by the resort.
Thomas Marchese played for a handful of hours and ended up taking out a number of players who are actual participants in the $25,000 buyout tournament, but thankfully did not end up cashing in his wins. The mistake was realised after a few hours and the player was disqualified and Aria had to compensate the actual professionals playing in the event for the mistake.
