PokerStars denies recent rumours about failure in FTP negotiations

13 July 2012

After some rumours started by former Party-Gaming legal counsel James Barnes on twitter claiming that the PokerStars request to dismiss civil complaint has denied by DoJ, head of PokerStars Corporate communications Eric Hollreiser came to public to support some media tweets saying otherwise, and that these tweets were false.

James Barnes refused to reveal his source when yesterday posted a couple of tweets claiming that the motion to dismiss civil complaint was denied by Department of Justice and the FTP acquisition deal was off, and that it was nothing more than a manouver from PokerStars to prevent Group Bernard Tapie to bring back their biggest competitor. However, Eric Hollreiser promptly retweeted some media tweets claiming that this allegation was not true in what can only be seen as an unoficial confirmation that the deal is still ready to go through.

Masters Poker Club mentioned this uncertainty regarding the FTP deal when we announced  Pokerstars Request for the Complaint dismissal.
Industry and players are feeling the tension, and the feeling that something is about to happend is stronger as days go by.
